‘INQUILAB’ is a 2008 documentary film scripted and directed by noted Urdu poet Gauhar Raza, about Indian freedom fighter, Bhagat Singh, one of the most influential revolutionaries of the Indian freedom struggle.
The 40 minutes documentary showcasing rare documents, pictures, original footages, and newspaper clippings was co-produced by Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (NMML) and Act Now for Harmony and Democracy (ANHAD) in connection with birth centenary Bhagat Singh.
Parts of Singh’s life in the documentary contain narration by Zohra Sehgal, Arpana Kaur, Sarah Hashmi, Bipin Chandra and Prof KN Nayar.
Bhagat Singh was hanged by the British in March 1931, aged 23 for the assassination of a British DSP J.P. Saunders, in Lahore the place of his birth.
