INOC flays TRS govt for snatching lands for Mallannasagar

Expressing concern over the dispute on Mallannasagar project in Medak district, Indian National Overseas Congress(I), USA,  stated the TRS government was trying to forcibly acquire the lands, which yield two crops a year, without detailed project report.

In a pressnote, INOC welcomed the High Court verdict on G.O.No.123 and demanded that the government not file an appeal by implementing Land Acquisition Act-2013. The representatives of the INOC said the government has to allow the people to express their opinion freely and allow the Opposition parties to visit the Mallannasagar project oustees’ villages. The government has to acquire the land by convincing the people in a cordial manner.

They warned the TRS government not to go into the annals of the history as villains by violating right for fair compensation mentioned in Land Acquisition Act-2013. The government has to extend help to the landless people, tenant farmers and people of various professions. The        INOC extended its full support to the Telangana Congress party, which was waging a fight in favor of the villages to be submerged under Mallannasagar project. (NSS)
