Turkey: A pilot project in Turkey is allowing metro users to use plastic as a form of currency. This innovative idea will help in recycling waste.
As per the report of Al Jazeera, metro users can add credit to their travel cards by dumping waste plastic in the vending machine. This project is expected to play a vital role in the protection of the environment.

It may be mentioned that Turkey produces around 31m tones of waste annually, out of which, only 11% gets recycled. This project is intended to increase this percentage.
