Muzaffarpur: A man in Bijopur was lynched to death by angry villagers on suspicion of being a thief according to Police reports.
The deceased is identified as Kapil Tyagi and the incident is reported to have occurred on Friday evening, PTI reported.
Station House Officer (SHO) Subhash Rathore speaking of the case said, so far tow persons have been arrested and a murder case has been registered against several people involved in the punching.
The deceased’s family and others staged a protest which was led by former BJP district president Devert Tyagi at the Chapar police station demanding more arrests and justice in the case.
The relatives claim that the deceased was innocent and had only gone for work but was brutally beaten to death.
The police are now investigating the case. Security personnel has been deployed in the village to avoid further disruption said the SHO.
