Injustice to AP: TDP President

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president and former Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu today said the UPA government has not prepared ground to hike railway fares. Once again the Andhra Pradesh has been let down in the UPA regime, Mr Naidu in a release said although several projects were listed under state and centre partnership, the state government has not been allocated any funds in the budget. Although the MMTS phase-II is shown as a major project, the state people have been enjoying only the MMTS first phase only, he said.

The state has only five of the 84 new stations announced in the budget, he said besides several projects already approved and also the coach factory at Kazipet, there is no mention of any fund allocations in this budget. Without new lines, the state is driven to backwardness with high density operations despite the fact that state elected large number of congress MPs, he said. The TDP demanded that the hiked railway charges be withdrawn and the injustice done to the state is set right. UNI
