Sub-Inspector Sidddaiah, who sustained serious injuries in a shoot out with SIMI terrorists in Janakipuram of Nalgonda district on Saturday, passed away while undergoing treatment in Kamineni Hospital this evening.
Sidhaiah’s family hailing from Kurnool settled in Jadcherla town of Mahabunagar district some two decades ago. After his schooling in Jadcherla, Sidhaiah who dreamt of becoming an SI became so after studying his Intermediate and Degree in Hyderabad. On being selected in 2012 he got first assignment at Mothkur as SI and was discharging his duties in the same capacity at Atmakur. Sidhaiah’s wife gave birth to a male child at the same hospital where he was undergoing a treatment. With this family members of Sidhaiah are now caught in the web of grief. Sidhaiah married Dharanisha from Kadapa district.
After the shooting incident at the Hi-Tech bus depot of Suryapet in Nalogonda district on Thursday in which a police constable and Home Guard were killed, the police stepped up combing operations to nab the escaped assailants who were later identified as SIMI terrorists.
Siddaiah, who is working as Sub-Inspector in Atmakur, On coming to know that the two terror suspects were fleeing on a motor-cycle, Siddiah daringly chased the armed terrorists. Though the two terrorist were killed in the exchange of fire on Saturday near Janakipuram forest area, a police constable lost his life and a CI and SI Siddaiah sustained injuries and were admitted in Kamineni Hospital.
While the Circle Inspector was discharged after treatment and battling with life trying defy death. He received four bullet injuries in the encounter. The doctors operated and removed three bullets but could not remove a bullet imbedded in the brain. Valiant efforts were made by a team of doctors to perform the surgery and remove the bullet but the health condition of Siddaiah, who was put on ventilator, came in the way. He breathed his last at 4.06 pm.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao visited the hospital and enquired from the doctors about the SI’s health condition. He consoled the family members and prayed that the SI would recover soon.
Ironically on the day when Siddaiah was admitted in the hospital with four bullets embedded inn his body, his Darshini gave birth to their first child the same day. As fate would have it Siddaiah could not see his new born son. As a matter of fact the SI was planning to take leave and be with his wife who was in the advanced delivery stage. However the shooting incident at Suryapet and then encounter at Janakipuram turned the young Sub-Inspector into a martyr.(NSS).
