Injured Haddin doubtful for Leeds test match

Melbourne, August 01: Australian wicket-keeper Brad Haddin is looking doubtful for rest of the matches of the ongoing Ashes series against England. Haddin suffered a fracture in his finger just before start of the third test match at Edgbaston due to which he was ruled out of the third test match.

Australian team coach Tim Nielsel said that injured Haddin was ruled out of the third test match as playing in such condition may further exacerbate his finger injury. He added that Haddin has also been doubtful to play in the next test match at Leeds and final decision would be taken after diagnosis by a specialist in Australia.

It was a coincidence that Haddin got his finger fractured at the same place where Australian fast bowler Glenn McGrath twisted his ankle during the warm-up before the match four years ago. Haddin was keeping behind the wickets when he received this finger injury.

Haddin’s absence is a major blow for Australian team, who has been fighting hard to level the Ashes test series. England is leading the test aeries 1-0 after winning the Lords test match.
