Hyderabad, February 22: Sahitya Vyasam, the systems engineer with Infosys Technologies Limited, who jumped to death from the fourth floor of a parking complex inside the Infosys campus at Gachibowli yesterday, was to get married in March this year.
But with no one, including the Infosys management, her parents and friends, willing to talk to the police about the reasons behind the extreme step, police officials are unable to make up their mind whether the marriage was against her wishes or whether there was any other reason for her suicide.
Sources associated with the investigation told Express that Sahitya was to get engaged to one Rushi shortly and her parents had decided that the marriage would take place in March.
Rushi is based in USA and the police are not sure whether it was an arranged or a love marriage.
With the password of Sahitya’s e-mail account not known to the police, investigators have written to the Infosys management to allow them to access Sahitya’s e-mails which may throw some light over the mystery behind her death.
But since Infosys is headquartered in Bangalore, sources said that the password could be broken only by engineers based there.
Further, the police have also sought the call details of Sahitya’s mobile phone which may also reach them by Monday.
“Once we go through the e-mails and analyse the call records, we may get a clear picture,” sources said.
With parents, the Infosys management and even friends not willing to cooperate with the investigation, police officials are at a loss for a clue.
“Whether something happened in the office, home or with friends, we do not know anything,” an official said.
Police however suspect that her suicide has something to do with her marriage to Rushi, who was expected to be in Hyderabad shortly.
