Infidelity, self-fulfillment traverses Paris

Hyderabad, December 21: The enchanting world of Paris, Budapest and Hyderabad through the eyes of a woman on her path to self-discovery is the subject of author Priti Aisola’s debut novel ‘See Paris for Me’ which was launched in the city.

The story revolves around the life of Sadhavi, the protagonist of the novel. Sadhavi travels with her workaholic husband to Paris and falls in love with a man who is temperamental, quirky, unpredictable and a scholar and then starts Sadhavi’s internal turmoil with her newfound love and a craving for self-fulfillment.

“Sadhavi’s character deals with infidelity in thought and guilt and anguish that comes with it and her intense longing for the person,” says the author Priti Aisola who did her M Phil in English from the Hyderabad Central University. The author who claims to never have penned a letter was inspired to write a novel based on her travelogues and thus started her journey as a novelist in 2004. Talking about the subject of her book infidelity, the author claims, “There cannot be any moralistic stance for infidelity in thought. There are conflicting feelings on fulfillment and torment and how it is dealt with differs from person to person.”

The book that is set in the cultural hub of the world, Priti says, “I am familiar with the cities and I know the mood of these cities. I took my character along with me and tried to contemplate the situation be it a music concert or any museum.” The book that was released by Y V Reddy, Former Governor, Reserve Bank of India says, “The book provokes you to introspect your feelings and emotions.”
