Hyderabad, June 06: An infant was reportedly stolen from a private hospital at Nacharam on Sunday by a woman leading to tension at the hospital.
According to police, a woman from Tadbund in the Old City, Shameema, got admitted to the hospital and delivered a male baby on Saturday.
On Sunday morning, a woman, aged between 25-30 years, clad in a yellow saree approached Shameema and told the latter that her sister was also being treated in the same hospital. Later, the woman, though resisted by Shameema, took the baby and played with him for a few minutes, police said.
After playing for sometime, the woman suddenly disappeared from the premises. Shameema raised an alarm following which those attending her and the hospital staff searched nearby places but could not trace the woman.
The hospital authorities informed police who launched a manhunt for the woman.
Shameema got admitted to the hospital as her husband, Mahmood, worked in it earlier, police added.
