Bhopal, January 09: An infant was today run over by the vehicle of a BJP MLA near here, police said.
The infant Jitendra Surendra Padwar, aged 14 months, died on the spot after coming under the wheels of the SUV of BJP MLA from Huzur Assembly constituency, Jitendra Daga, under Bairagarh police station area, they said.
Daga was not in the vehicle when the incident occurred, they said, adding the SUV driver Nikash has been arrested.
Nikash, along with another employee of Daga, had gone to a slum in Jat area when the accident took place, police said.
A case has been registered against Nikash under relevant sections of the IPC and the vehicle has been impounded.
