The vicious act of a contractor, which claimed the life of an infant in Medak district, compelled the Lok Ayukta to come into action on Monday.
The bizarre incident, which took place at Turkala Khanapur village of Hathnoora Mandal on January 7, came to light only on Sunday.
According to sources the contractor hired the labourers from Kakarlapadu village of Nawabpet mandal to work in a chemical factory. Among the labourers was Malleswari, the mother of the six-month-old baby boy.
During the work when Malleswari tries to feed the crying baby, the contractor resisted her from feeding the infant, leading to death of the infant due to starvation.
Lok Ayukta after listening to the dejected mother, strictly directed the Superintendent of Medak Police, to probe the incident and submit a report by February 19.
