Industrialists and Businessmen of Delhi threaten strike against Pay hike of workers

New Delhi: There is an apprehension that the decision of Aam Aadmi Party Govt. for 50% hike in the wages of employees. There is a danger of many industries declaring layoff. The organization of Industrialists and Businessmen told that it is an unjust decision. They said that the matter would be referred to Mr. Najeeb Jung, Lt. Governor of Delhi.

Mr. Birjesh Mishra, Convener of the Trade Associations told the newsmen that many workers have to be retrenched which may result in closure of many industries. He had met Dy. CM of Delhi, Mr. Manish Sisodia and recorded his objection. It is expected that Govt. of Delhi would approve the proposal of 50% pay hike to the workers today in its cabinet meeting.

The Union leaders told that they have sought an appointment with Lt. Governor. It may be mentioned that while addressing the gathering held in connection of Independence Day, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal, CM of Delhi had made an announcement for 50% hike in their wages. According to him, the minimum pay of unskilled workers would be raised from Rs. 9, 568 to Rs. 14, 052, that of semi-skilled workers from Rs. 10, 582 to Rs. 15, 471 and the wages of skilled workers would be raised from Rs. 15, 471 to Rs. 17, 033.
