Industrial Policy skewed in favour of Jagan: TDP

Hyderabad, July 01: The Telugu Desam Party on Thursday alleged that the state government’s Industrial Policy was skewed in favour of YSR Congress Party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy to the extent that other entrepreneurs were preferring to establish their units in other states.

TDP state general secretary Varla Ramaiah told media persons at the NTR Trust Bhavan that the “state government’s Industrial Policy is not encouraging entrepreneurs to establish their units in the state, since it is targeting at encouraging Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s businesses.”

“Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy’s inefficiency is to be blamed for the skewed industrial policy which has failed to attract new investors to Andhra Pradesh,” Mr Ramaiah alleged.

Citing the example of Hero Motors, manufacturers of well known brand Hero Honda motorcycles, the TDP leader said that and other companies’ managements prefer to set up their manufacturing units in neighbouring states.

“This is due to lax attitude of Ministers and officials concerned, apart from the ‘culture of kickbacks’, Ramaiah alleged.

He added that, “At least, now the state government, especially the Chief Minister and Industries Minister, must open their eyes and make efforts for attracting entrepreneurs to establish their units in Andhra Pradesh by providing infrastructure and other facilities.”
