Indrakaran meets Dattatraya for ESIC Hospital in Nirmal

Endowments Minister A. Indrakaran Reddy today called on Union Minister of State for Labour & Employment Bandaru Dattatraya and requested the latter to set up an ESIC hospital at Nirmal in Adilabad district for the convenience of Beedi workers in the district.

Indrakaran also urged the Union minister to help set up a sub-regional EPF office at Nirmal town, for the benefit of over two lakh Beedi workers in the Nirmal Assembly constituency and surrounding villages. He also explained to Dattatraya about the plight of Beedi workers that they were forced to go to distant places for medical treatment in the absence of ESIC hospital in Nirmal. Stating that construction of a building for ESIC hospital might take more time, the Telangana minister urged the Union minister to arrange medical treatment to the workers in the Old Area Hospital in Nirmal town.

After a patient hearing, the Union minister assured to begin ESIC medical services in Nirmal town soon. (NSS)
