Nur was marched to the yard of Baiturrahumim Mosque in Banda Aceh were a masked man carried out the caning outside the mosque. At the end of the punishment, she collapsed on the floor and was carried off the stage into an ambulance and rushed to hospital.
“Take these punishments as a lesson. What has been done by these convicts should not be taken as an example. And I hope their canings in Meuraxa district today will be the last ever,” he said, according to Antara.
Aceh is the only region in Indonesia that implements a very strict system of Shariah law. Shariah law is still implemented across the Middle East and in Isis territories.
