Indo-Pak mutual collaboration stressed for promotion of Urdu

Hyderabad, December 31: Veteran journalist Mr. Mahmood Shaam group editor ARY channels, Pakistan addressing the inaugural function of World Urdu editors conference said that though because of technology, the page making and transmission of Urdu newspapers are done like other language newspapers but the technology is challenging us. Presently we are not using technology but the technology is using us. This world Urdu editors conference accepting the challenge can announce concrete moves.

He further said these days net editions find more readers than general newspapers. The internet readers should be catered differently compared to the print media readers.

He hailed the services of Mr. Zahid Ali Khan saying that he is the politician whose work and message is love. He asserted that while Urdu seemed to be receiving a better patronage from the Indian government than in Pakistan.

Mr. Zahid Ali Khan editor Siasat in his presidential speech said that Urdu journalism played a remarkable role during the 125 years of freedom struggle. He said Urdu is a language of all people irrespective of religion. Zahed Ali Khan suggested formation of a consortium for Urdu newspapers.
