Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Wednesday said that Indiramma Baata was conceived to ensure that the results of welfare programs reach all sections of the people in the State.
Participating in the third day program of Indiramma Baata at Sadashivpet in the district, Kiran Kumar Reddy said Indiramma Baata was taken up to get first hand information whether the benefits of welfare schemes were reaching the people or not. The Chief Minister recalled that he has good relations with Medak district. He assured that Rs 60 to Rs 70 crores would be released to each constituency in the district to launch development works. He reminded that additionally Rs 200 crores have been sanctioned for drinking water facility. He hoped that Pavala Vaddi (3% p.a. interest) to the SHGs would help the women achieve financial self reliance.
Stating that change was not possible in a single day, the Chief Minister said the governments were making relentless efforts for empowerment of women for the last 10 years. The women welfare schemes were formed to bring the BPL families above the poverty line. He also sanctioned a cotton purchasing centre and funds for supply of Majeera water to Sadashivpet town.
The ministers — D K Aruna, Sunitha Laxma Reddy and Kondru Murali, MLAs Muthyam Reddy, Kavitha, Jaipal Reddy and MLC Bhupal Reddy attended the program. (NSS)
