Amritsar: A 360-foot highest flag in the country hoisted on Sunday at the Indo-Pak Attari-Wagah Border. It is the tallest flag in the country which can be visible easily from the Lahore, Pakistan.
According to India.com, the flag is 110 metres in length, 24 metres in width, 120 feet in length, 80 feet in breadth and 55 tonnes in weight which is inaugurated by Punjab Minister Anil Joshi. Previously 293 feet high flag is in the Ranchi.
Built at an approximate cost of Rs 3.50 crore, the post was a project of the Amritsar Improvement Trust Authority of the Punjab government. “With the model code of conduct for the assembly elections being in place in the state, the minister got special permission from the Election Commission for the inauguration, officials said.
It was decided that the tricolor flag to be hosted on January 26 but due to some technical reasons the plan was changed.
Pakistan Rangers raised objection over the installation of the flag and regarding this, they have conveyed their message to BSF.
