Indians are made refugee in their own land: West Bengal CM

The opposition targeted the ruling party over NRC (National Register of Citizens), with Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee blamed the Centre and Assam government for turning “Indian citizens into refugees in their own land”.

After the exclusion of 40 lakh names in the final National Register of Citizens (NRC) draft, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today said those “Indian citizens have become refugees” in their own land.

“We must not forget that these people are not Rohingyas but very much Indian,” she said. As he mounted an attack on BJP, She also accused the central government saying it has resorted to “vote-bank politics”.

The CM is leaving for Delhi today, said she would seek time from Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh to discuss the issue.
