The opposition targeted the ruling party over NRC (National Register of Citizens), with Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee blamed the Centre and Assam government for turning “Indian citizens into refugees in their own land”.
After the exclusion of 40 lakh names in the final National Register of Citizens (NRC) draft, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today said those “Indian citizens have become refugees” in their own land.
