ABU DHABI: An Indian national won 15 million dirhams ($4 million) at the Big Ticket raffle in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) capital city, it was reported on Monday.
The winner Sreenu Sreedharan Nair, who lives in India, was however, not reachable when Big Ticket organisers called him four to five times on Sunday evening, reports the Gulf News.
28-year-old Nair, works as a technical worker in Dubai and earns Dh1,500 monthly salary.
Nairvshares the ticket with 21 other colleagues in his company. So, effectively he won five per cent of Dh15 million which is Dh750,000, Gulf News reported.
Some other Indians also won in the raffle, including Neeshad Hamid who lives in Dubai, won a BMW Series 9.
Last month, another Indian national Mohammad Fayaz JA, won 12 million dirhams, jackpot of Big Ticket raffle in Abu Dhabi.
Big Ticket is the largest and longest-running monthly raffle draw for cash prizes and dream luxury cars in Abu Dhabi.
These tickets can be purchased online or at Abu Dhabi International Airport, Al Ain Duty Free and City Terminal Abu Dhabi.
A live draw is orchestrated at the arrivals entrance of the airport.
Tickets are priced at 500 dirhams.
