Indian, Pakistani troops traded heavy fire on LoC

Jammu: Indian and Pakistani troops on Friday exchanged heavy gunfire on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district.

Defence Ministry spokesman Lt Col Devender Anand said the Pakistan Army initiated unprovoked shelling with mortars and firing with small arms from about 2.40 p.m. in the Nowshera sector.

“The Indian Army is retaliating befittingly,” the officer said.
