Today a meeting of INDIAN MUSLIM RIGHTS (IMR) held on at its office in Asansol in the presence of
its National Convenor Mustaqim Siddiqui, Sk. Mohidul Islam, Sk. Zeeshan Ali (Treasurer), Mazharul
Isalm, Mohammad Salahuddin, Mohammad Ghayasuddin, Hafiz Mansoor Alam, Irfan Bedar, Sk.
Sabir Ali, W.B. State Convenor (Adhoc), and among others and it is decided to start a national
movement for waqf properties restoration. We are starting membership campaigning in second
week of March 2015. Mr. Osman Alhajiri and Khalida Parveen has acknowledged our request to
involve in this movement.
Indian Muslim Rights (IMR) is established as a an organization to promote and protect Indian
Muslim Islamic Values, Personal Laws, Culture, Tradition and to Restore Waqf Properties.
We are engaged in a WAQF-ACTION PROJECT (Waqf Properties Restoration Project )along with
muslim rights, based on the idea that there are approximately 3,00,000 registered Wakf properties
in India on about six lakh acres of land but it is so terribly managed that it is the only system
where virtually no accountability is demanded. Cases of blatant corruption abound. Land is sold
off for buildings, hotels, malls or factories for a pittance or given out for shockingly low rents to
commercial interests. During the Congress regime when 2G and Coal Scam was exposed, the pillars
and corridors of our Parliament were shaken The total loss of Government exchequer due to 2G &
Coal Scam was Rs.176000 & 185000 Crore respectively which is like peanuts when compared to
wakf loots. In the same year (2012) the Karnataka Waqf Land Scam was over 200000 Crore but anti
corruption crusader Arvind Kejriwal kept quiet and Anna Ji was also inaudible. No one dared to
raise a single word on India’s largest scam , As of now, the revenue from rented waqf properties
is negligible at Rs.8,000 crore, which is not even one per cent of the actual rent value these
properties can give. If these properties are leased out at MARKET prices and developed with
private partners, the rental income alone will be not less than Rs.90,000 crore to Rs.1 lakh
crore,”.
Former chairman of Delhi Waqf Board, Mr. Siraj Piracha, revealed that he had offered to finance
Delhi government budget, provided the authorities help the Board to evict encroachers and help in
their development. The supreme court of India state that a waqf is a permanent dedication of
property having been found as waqf would always retain its character as a waqf. In others words,
once a waqf always a waqf. Ex-Union Minority Affairs Minister Najma Heptulla said that centre is
committed to free Waqf properties of encroachment and develop them with the help of a “strong
legislation”.
Keeping on mind above lines we came to a conclusion that Waqf properties itself will create a
huge fund annually which will permit us to operate over 1000 elite secondary schools in each part
of India apart from 100 Higher Educational institutions, several media houses, various industries
and economic and social developments programmes annually .
The Indian Muslim Rights (IMR) will try to bring together all those who are committed to the
protection, guard and promotion of waqf properties. We declare that we do not want an eye
wash fund for our development, We do not want any subsidy, We do not want any reservation, We
do not want any exceptional facility. We want only Waqf Land to restore and we know very well
that its restoration will make us the fast runner in development of nation, development of society
and development of community. We have talent, we have ability but poverty creates inability.
Keeping in our objects in minds we decided to start a national movement for restoration of waqf
properties where we appealed all Muslims should come forward to restore wakf properties from
the Government instead of approaching the authorities with a begging bowl each time for getting
more budget allotted for us. A concerted effort is the need of the hour on the part of all the
Muslim organisations, leaders, scholars, intellectual and individuals which will pay rich dividends
in the days to come. The future generation of the Muslim will remember us for our efforts.
We have invited all Muslim sects and Muslim organisation to give their support, valuable advice,
guidance and feedback to us for an initiative that involves a national movement for restoration of Waqf
Properties.
