Indian Institute of Information Technology to come up at Bhopal

(Pervez Bari): Indian Institute of Information Technology, (IIIT), will be established at Bhopal. An MoU and Memorandum of Association (MoA) between Government of India, state government and Mineral Resources Development Corporation was endorsed at a cabinet meeting chaired by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here on Tuesday.

This will be one of the 20 new Indian Institutes of Information Technology to be established in the country by Government of India under PPP mode. The Government of India will share 50 percent of total Rs.128 crore to be spent on this project. Of the remaining funds, 35 percent i.e. Rs.44.80 crore will be borne by the state government and Rs.19.20 crore by Mineral Resources Development Corporation, which is industrial partner in the project. For the project, 50 acre land has been earmarked at village Barkhera Nathu near Bhopal.

Meanwhile, the cabinet endorsed State Data Sharing and Accessibility Policy. Its objective is to ensure easy access to state government-owned sharable, non-sensitive data and information. As a results, this data collected for public use can be used by civil society for better consideration and decisions. The policy has been formulated in the context of National Data Sharing and Accessibility Policy.

The cabinet sanctioned 33 class III posts for family courts at Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur, Rewa, Sagar, Ujjain, Gwalior, Tikamgarh, Shahdol, Rajgarh and Hoshangabad. These include 11 posts each of copier, record keeper and office typist.

The cabinet also decided to create one post of assistant programmer for IT Cell of Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission.

The cabinet sanctioned 2 posts of staff officer for posting in Up Lokayukta/ Director General, Special Police Establishment of Lokayukta Organisation in the pay scale of Rs.6600 in place of grade pay Rs.5400. Besides, 2 posts of private secretary to Secretary and IG were also sanctioned.

It was decided to deem as regular the service rendered after direct recruitment/ promotion through relaxation in rules by 9 clerical employees of Special Branch of Police Headquarters.

The cabinet decided to create one new post each of Director Library Service, Reference Librarian and Technical Assistant Library in the High Court at Jabalpur. (pervezbari@eth.net)
