Kathmandu: India’s Ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri on Tuesday interacted with the Indian team, who recently clinched the title at the 8th series of South Asian Judo Championship.
Puri congratulated the team for the success and wished them luck for their forthcoming games during the interaction.
The delegation of the 16 members arrived at the DCM Binay Kumar’s residence inside the Indian Embassy in capital Kathmandu and had interacted with the members of the Indian mission to Nepal.
“There is no difference or gap between Nepal and India. They are the people of our own culture, religion and other aspects. If we talk about the people of Nepal, they are very co-operative and caring which we liked the most,” Amarjit Sastri, the team manager of the Indian Judo Team, said in the interaction.
India in total won 12 Gold medals and three Bronze medals in the three-day competition that was held from April 21 to April 23, 2018 in the Army Physical Training Center, Lagankhel, Nepal.
While hosts Nepal stood second with two Gold medals, seven Silver and 13 Bronze medals in total, Pakistan finished at the third spot with two Gold, four Silver and three Bronze medals. (ANI)
