Indian drone entered in Chinese air space, China was informed says India

New Delhi: An Indian drone, on its routine air mission in Indian air space, has lost contact with the ground forces due to technical error and entered into Chinese air space crossing Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Sikkim sector.

Confirming Chinese Ministry claim that Indian UAV has crossed into its borders, the MOD of India has issued a statement adding that it was informed to Chinese counterparts about the drone’s entry into China’s airspace. But the Chinese did not mention about Indian military personnel informing it about the drone. Rather the Chinese military claimed that an Indian drone had “intruded” into China’s airspace and expressed its “strong dissatisfaction and opposition to the intrusion”.

The Chinese Military official also said that “India’s move has infringed upon China’s territorial sovereignty, and we are strongly dissatisfied with and opposed to this and we will fulfill our mission and responsibility and defend China’s national sovereignty and security resolutely”.

Indian officials confirmed that the loss in communication was due to a technical error, which is being investigated.

However, Indian border personnel followed standard protocol and immediately informed their Chinese counterparts.
