Indian IT companies now to pay more for H-1B visa

Washington: With a new executive order in the US, Indian IT companies will be hiring more Americans and fewer from India. Hiring more from India will not be practised for cost cutting purpose.

According to a news by Hindustan Times, Indian IT companies like Infosys, TCS and cognizant will have to pay 50% more for H-1B visa.

The president of the US said in January, “I will fight for you with every breath in my body, and I will never, ever let you down,” in his inaugural speech.

He claimed that “America will start winning again,” like never before. “We will bring back our jobs. We will bring back our borders. We will bring back our wealth. And we will bring back our dreams,” Trump said, in one of his speeches — the inaugural one — that marked a complete U-turn of America’s foreign policies, and its relationship with other nations.

After some severe decisions taken by the US Government against H-1B visa, a senior administration official of the White House said on April 17, “It’s the only program — well, the only program that was mentioned by name is the H1B visa. But the departments and agencies are asked to crack down on fraud and abuse generally in our immigration system,”

The Indian IT companies such as Cognizant, Infosys and TCS are the major recipients of H-1B visa. If they start hiring US nationals, their cost will increase 40-50%.

An executive order was passed a day after the Easter, called “Buy American and Hire American”.

Indian companies are unfairly taking away jobs, the senior administration official explained, at the James S. Brady Press briefing room at the White House at 4:07 in the evening.
