Employees of 27 nationalized banks, under the aegis of ‘Indian Bank Employees Union (IBEU) trade union, on Sunday felicitated new workmen Director P.V. Krishna Rao, who was appointed by the Centre after completion of 25 years of service as general secretary of Indian Bank Employees Union (AP).
Speaking on the occasion, former Director E. Arunachalam, who was the chief guest, exuded confidence that new director PV Krishna Rao, would efficiently and sincerely handle all responsibilities while protecting the interests of bank policies and also look after the welfare of workmen employees without taking any adverse steps. He felt unity among the Board of Directors would help detect fraudulent activities. He pointed out irregularities and fraud were committed by one director, who had political background.
P.V. Krishna Rao said he would fulfil his duties diligently and make efforts to satisfy the both employees and management while reviewing policy matters. He assured that he would take initiative to regularize the services of lower grade employees.
The APBEF representatives from Central Bank, UCO Bank, Bank of Baroda, Vijaya Bank and others took part in the felicitation program. (NSS)
