Indian auto component cos evince interest in Slovenia

Kolkata: At least three Indian auto-component makers were scouting for opportunities in setting up manufacturing or assembly units in Slovenia, a diplomat of that country said today.

“At least four companies of which three are into automotive sector are seriously looking at setting up assembly or manufacturing units there for export to auto majors of Europe,” Slovenian Ambassador to India Jozef Drofenik said during an interactive session with MCCI.

The sector is very important for Slovenia, he said.

In January-December 2017, bilateral trade between the two countries was about USD 230 million, Drofenik said, adding, trade is likely to get a boost once the India-EU Free Trade Agreement is in place.
