Indian Army Forces carried out ‘punitive fire assaults’ on Pakistani posts.

Srinagar: The Indian Army released a video showing the army forces destructing Pakistani posts across the Line of Control(LoC) in Kashmir.

In a statement released by the Army, it said it on May 9 the army carried out ‘punitive fire assaults’ on these posts to stop infiltration.

Major General Ashok Narula, Additional Director General Public Information, said: “Army has inflicted damage to post across LoC in Nowshera sector in response to firing by Pakistan”.

Major added locations aiding infiltration of terrorists are being targeted and destroyed by using rocket launchers, anti-tank guided missiles, automated grenade launchers and recoilless guns.

An Army officer said “As part of our anti-terror strategy, punitive fire assaults are carried out from time to time. Pakistani posts actively help infiltration,” according to NDTV.

Army in its global message has clearly pointed out strong action will be taken if Pakistan attempts to push infiltrators across the Line of Control (LoC).

According to the report, The Indian Army in this attack used bunker busting gun, anti-tank guided munitions and fired mortar shells from the side of the Border unlike last September’s surgical strikes when the Army crossed LoC to target terrorist camps in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir(PoK), as reported in DC.
