India wins toss, bats first against Sri Lanka

Nagpur, Dec 18: India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and decided to bat first Friday in the second limited-overs international against Sri Lanka.

India retained the same line-up that won the high-scoring first one-dayer of the five-match series by three runs Tuesday, but Sri Lanka made four changes.

Sri Lanka picked rookies Suraj Randiv and Suranga Lakmal for their one-day international debuts, just two days after they joined the injury-hit squad. Middle-order batsman Chamara Kapugedera and spinner Ajantha Mendis were also brought in.

Those left out were former skipper Sanath Jayasuriya, middle-order batsman Thilan Samaraweera and pace bowlers Nuwan Kulasekara and Dilhara Fernando.

India: Mahendra Singh Dhoni (captain), Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh, Praveen Kumar, Zaheer Khan and Ashish Nehra.

Sri Lanka: Kumar Sangakkara (captain), Tillakratne Dilshan, Upul Tharanga, Mahela Jayawardene, Thilina Kandamby, Chamara Kapugedera, Angelo Mathews, Suraj Randiv, Suranga Lakmal, Chanaka Welegedara and Ajantha Mendis.

Umpires: Marais Erasmus, South Africa, and Shivir Tarapore, India.
