But I feel it is a right time to give opportunities to youngsters, he said. He said the current short tour by New Zealanders was very good for the Indian team. “Nothing better than playing against the New Zealanders before the tough battle begins against England and Australia. I wish the Indian team very best,” he said. He said the wicket still looks good, 200 will be an easy target to chase. On his next move in life, Laxman said he was looking forward to playing Ranji Trophy matches for Hyderabad. “I have not played much for Hyderabad from 2000 and thought it was my moral responsibility to give back something to the Hyderabad cricket,” he added. The holiday crowd of over 20,000 people who came to watch the match gave a standing ovation to Laxman when he was honoured with a silver plaque by Vishy. UNI
