India will give befitting reply to Pakistan, says Rajnath Singh

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday said India will strongly retaliate if Pakistan continues to violate the ceasefire.

Addressing a rally here, Rajnath said, “We want good relations with all neighbours but if Pakistan continues with the ceasefire violations, we will retaliate strongly.”

The Home Minister, however, expressed his desire to maintain good relations with Islamabad.

He said that the NDA government will not tolerate any effort by any nation to demean the honour of the people of this country.

He claimed that there was a perception earlier around the world that the previous UPA government was a weak government.

“But in contrast, the world is now of the view that the new government in India is a powerful one,” he said.

Earlier on August 26, during the DGMO- level talks India had strongly protested against the ceasefire violations by the Pakistani Rangers.

For 45 days since July 17, there have been 34 ceasefire violations by Pakistan. (ANI)
