India-US indispensable partners of 21st century: John Kerry

U.S Secretary of State John Kerry said that US and India can and will be indispensable partners of the 21st century, at the fifth Indo- US Strategic Dialogue here today.

“US and India can and will be indispensable partners of the 21st century. We share a clear understanding on where we began. Moment has never been more right to deliver on our (US-India) relation. Together we have the opportunity to help India meet its challenges,” said Kerry.

“The new government’s slogan “sabka saath sabka vikas” is like what Prez Obama professes,” said Kerry. PM Modi calls for saffron revolution because the color stands for energy and he is right,” he said.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said that Kerry has been generous in his assessment of what the new government will do for the people.

“It has been recognized that both sides stand at a great turning point. Secretary Kerry was generous in his assessment of what the new government will do for the people,” said Swaraj.

“My colleagues and I see great potential in US as a global partner, as investors, and as trade partners,” she added.

Earlier today, Kerry and Swaraj met to co-chair the fifth Indo- US Strategic Dialogue in which the two sides discussed transformative initiatives in key areas of security and energy.

Kerry also met Finance and Defence Minister Arun Jaitely along with Commerce Secretary Penny Pritzker.

Perry’s visit is the first high-level interaction at the political level after the NDA Government came to power. (ANI)
