India, US to finalise accord to monitor end use of arms

New Delhi, July 18: India and the United States are working “very hard” to finalise the agreement to monitor the end use of arms and sensitive defence technology sold to New Delhi and ensure that it is not diverted to any other countries. “We are working very hard to finalise the number of agreements.

I am optimistic that we would get such agreements resolved.

,” US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said.

She said the dialogue that both New Delhi and Washington are going to embark upon is “extremely important. Clinton was responding to a question whether she was certain that there will be an agreement for the end use monitoring of sensitive technology transfered to India.
