India and Sweden on Wednesday discussed various issues of mutual importance, including disaster management, threat of Islamic State and steps being taken for counter-terrorism, an official release said here on Wednesday.
The discussions took place during a meeting between visiting Swedish State Secretary for Home Affairs Ann Linde and Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday.
While discussing radicalization and threat of IS, Linde observed that it is a big issue for Europe and urgent steps are being taken to protect the youth from lure of IS, the release said.
Rijiju apprised her that steps have already been initiated in India to keep the activities of such groups under constant check and it is seen that parents of such misguided youth are also discouraging them from getting attracted to any such idea.
