New Delhi: India will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to increase cooperation in civil aviation with Canada, the government said on Thursday.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the union cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The MoU will help in deepening bilateral cooperation and enhancing the experience and technical knowledge in the field of civil aviation between India and Canada.
“The two countries shall have a cooperation programme in the areas of safety of aircraft operations and related issues,” an official statement said.
The MoU will provide more up-to-date knowledge to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to make it familiar with best international practices and latest International Civil Aviation Organisation’s safety oversight programme requirements, the statement said.
