India shares ancient links with Cambodia: Vice President Ansari

Phonm Penh: Vice President M. Hamid Ansari said that Cambodia has had more than its share of turmoil, adding that it has demonstrated its capability to overcome all such turmoil.

Addressing at an Indian community reception, Ansari said that Cambodia is a country with which India has visible signs of ancient links.

The reception was hosted by the Indian Ambassador in Cambodia Navin Srivastava at Phonm Penh.

Stressing the India greatly values its relations with Cambodia, the Vice-President said that the “Look East Policy” and “Act East Policy” are very important in which Cambodia has a very important role to play.

The Vice President opined that capacity building is one area which is to be given importance.

“We want to build up our relations based on the needs of government and the people. We would want to explore and expand areas of more cooperation and called upon the Indian community in Cambodia to share with him the areas where more cooperation is needed,” he said. (ANI)
