New Delhi, October 10: US Ambassador to India Timothy J Roemer today congratulated President Barack Obama on winning the Nobel Peace Prize and said he was happy to see people in India responding to the latter’s message of change.
Mr Roemer said the President has got the prize for ”his ongoing efforts to give our world hope for a better tomorrow and for his bold fight for universal nuclear disarmament”.
In a message here, Mr Roemer stated the President has been acknowledged for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen the international diplomacy and cooperation between people all over the world.
”As I travel throughout India’s cities, villages, and rural communities, I meet people every day who respond very directly to President Obama’s message of change and hope. We see this change taking shape throughout India, and through the broadening and deepening ties shared by our two countries,” said the Ambassador.
”The President has fondly recounted the depth of inspiration he draws from leaders who have made our two great countries what they are today, such as Dr Martin Luther King, Jr and Mahatma Gandhi, who represent the power to foster change through ethics and morality,” he added.
