New Delhi, January 05: India Wednesday said it was aware of “gross inaccuracies” in a map of India on the US State Department website and asserted that “the entire border state of Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of the country”.

India also said it has consistently “rejected incorrect depiction of its borders on maps used by the US government”.

“The government is aware of the gross inaccuracies in the map of India on the US State Department website. The government has consistently rejected incorrect depiction of India’s borders on maps used by the US Government,” external affairs ministry spokesperson Vishnu Prakash said in a statement.

He said the Indian government has used every opportunity to convey to the US side its concern in this regard and has asked that these maps be corrected.

“We shall reiterate our position to the US,” said Prakash.

The MEA spokesperson said the government has consistently conveyed to the international community that maps of India should depict the boundaries of the country correctly.
