India reap apart Sri Lanka to storm into final of Asia Cup T20

Dhaka (Bangladesh): India stormed into the final of the Asia Cup T20 Cricket Tournament by registering a comprehensive five-wicket win over Sri Lanka at Mirpur here on Tuesday night.

The Indian side scored 142 for 5 in 19.2 overs. A calm and composed Virat Kohli made 56 not out in 47 deliveries with the help of seven fours, while Yuvraj Singh slammed a thrilling 35 just in 18 balls with the help of three fours and three sixes.

Earlier, defending champions Sri Lanka, which were without Lasith Malinga for the second successive game, scored 138 for 9 in 20 overs.

C.K. Kapugedera hit the highest of 30, while TAM Siriwardana contributed 22 for their team.

Sri Lanka lost their first T20 to Bangladesh on Sunday, but opted to retain the XI from that match – Thisara Perera was given another game.

It was their third successive victory for India, which will in their final league game face United Arab Emirates on Thursday (March 3).
