India prevents whitewash, won the last ODI by 10 runs

Pakistan falls short in the final ODI at Feroz Shah Kotla Groud, New Delhi. Chasing the target of 167 runs, Pakistan all out for 157.

What a match this has turned out to be! India finally walk of to some smiles, the first time this year. Pakistan had things under control, but the wicket of Misbah, who was holding one end and looked solid till then, opened up the flood gates as the rest crumbled under pressure.

India pulled off a thrilling 10-run victory over Pakistan in the third and final game of the one-day series at the Ferozeshah Kotla here Sunday.

Chasing 168, Pakistan were restricted to 157 in 48.5 overs. Ishant Sharma picked up three wickets for India while Ravindra Jadeja and Bhuvneshwar Kumar took a couple each.

India’s batting failed again, having few answers against a strong bowling attack that’s delivered two victories on the trot for Pakistan this series and has given the team an excellent chance of completing a clean sweep in Delhi. India chose to bat on a chilly morning on a dry surface with limited assistance for the Pakistan seamers, who made the most of what was on offer to rattle India’s top order for the third time this series. Saeed Ajmal then took over to pick up five wickets, including a double-strike in two balls that halted an attempted recovery and even MS Dhoni, India’s best batsman in these three games, couldn’t rescue the hosts.
