New Delhi: A Survey which was conducted by Thomson Reuters Foundation labeled India as the most dangerous country for women. The foundation released the list of dangerous countries for women on Tuesday.
It is surprising to note that in the same list, war-torn Afghanistan finds second place whereas Syria ranked third. Shockingly, Somalia ranked fourth in the same list.
According to the report published in TOI, questions related to risks face by women in six different areas were asked to 548 global experts. The areas include healthcare, access to economic resources and discrimination, customary practices, sexual violence, non-sexual violence and human trafficking.

In 2011, when the same survey was conducted by the London-based philanthropic arm of Thomson Reuters, India was at the 4th position in the list.
It may be mentioned that in 2011, when India was at the 4th position in the list, Pakistan was at the 3rd position. However, in 2018, India is placed at the first place whereas Pakistan at 6th place.
Meanwhile, Thomson Reuters Foundation CEO Monique Villa said that despite outcry after 2012 Delhi Gang Rape Case and new laws, more sexual crimes are reported.
