The All India Muslim Majlis e Mushawarat (AIMMM) is holding its grand four days programme in Mumbai from 13th October to 17th October on 2016

Hyderabad: Aamir Edresy (President, AMP) and while explaining the objectives of the event while addressing a Press Conference said that “Under the current Socio-Political situation of the country, which is going worst day by day Mumbai Social Leaders are going to host the series of meetings with people from different walks of life coming from all over Maharashtra, Executive Committee Meeting and Public Meetings under the banner of Mushawarat. Navaid Hamid (President) and Mujtaba Farooqi (General Secretary) of AIMMM will be present in these meetings”. More than 400 Policy Makers, Community Leaders, Academicians, Activist would discuss and deliberate on key issues facing the community.

Uzma Naheed, member of Mushawarat Working Committee said that “AIMMM has a long history of serving the community in its struggle to get equitable justice, for Hindu Muslim unity, defending its religious and legal rights and in formation of All India Muslim Personal Law Board, AMU Action Committee for restoration of its minority character in 1967, in struggle for Babri Masjid by constituting “Babri Masjid Coordination Committee” and in reaching communal strife areas and extending help to the victims with its limited resources”.

Senior Social Worker and Member of JIH Abdul Hafeez Farooqui while talking about AIMMM’s history informed, “The All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (AIMMM), as the apex body of Muslim organizations and institutions of national eminence along with some well-known personalities, was established at a representative meeting of the community leaders held on 8-9 August, 1964 at Nadwatul-Ulema, Lucknow, inaugurated by Syed Abul Hasan Ali Nadvi and chaired by Dr. Syed Mahmud.

Apart from them, Mufti Atiqur Rahman, Maulana Abul Lais Islahi, Qari Mohd. Tayyab, Maulana Kalb-e-Abid, Maulana Minatullah Rahmani, Janab Mohammad Muslim, Mulla Jan Mohammad, Janab Ebrahim Sulaiman Sait, etc played the key role. Dr. Syed Mahmud was elected as its first President. Mr. M.N. Anwar, MP became its first General Secretary”.

Shabbir Ahmed Ansari, a Member of Mushawarat and President, All India Muslim OBC Organization while giving details about the program said that “We are doing a meeting of Ulema and Clerics on 13th October, On the same day there will be special meetings with Ladies. On 14th there will be Press Conference by Central Leadership of Mushawarat and in evening, there will be a round table discussion with Political Leaders of Maharashtra on issues concerning Muslims”. He further added that “We are inviting delegates from all over Maharashtra in a meeting in first half of the day on 15th October which will be than followed by a Public Meeting in Evening at Historic Nagpada Junction”.

Prominent social worker Saeed Khan said, “The object and purpose of the Mushawarat is to secure Unity, Cooperation and Coordination among opinion-makers of the Muslim community, on issues of common concern, to provide relief to the victims of communal violence, to monitor the situation of the Muslim community and to take up with the authorities their legitimate grievances arising from non-implementation of the constitutional guarantees and national policies, to encourage their participation in national affairs and to create conditions for the protection of their religious and social identity.

Press conference was also attended by other local members and programme committee members of Mushawarat Salim Alware, Prof.

Shabana Khan, Adv. Asim Khan and Sher Mohammed Malik.
