New Delhi: India and Morocco on Tuesday signed an agreement on exemption from visa requirement for holders of diplomatic, official and service passports. The agreement was signed by Anil Wadhwa, Secretary (East) in the external affairs ministry, and Larbi Raffouh, Morocco’s ambassador to India. The agreement is seen as a follow up to the visit of King Mohammed VI to India for the India Africa Forum Summit last month. The agreement is expected to make it easier for officials and dignitaries to visit each other’s country and will step up political dialogue and fruitful exchange of views between them, officials said.
In his talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Moroccan king expressed a wish to inject fresh momentum into bilateral ties and suggested that they be elevated to the level of a “special partnership”.
