New Delhi, March 14: The Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (Icrier) Monday cancelled a seminar that was supposed to discuss the implications of India-Japan comprehensive economic agreement.
“In view of the deeply distressing situation in Japan following Friday’s earthquake and tsunami, we have decided to defer the seminar,” Icrier said in a statement.
The seminar, titled ‘India-Japan CEPA: Implications for East Asian Economic Integration’ was scheduled to be held at the India Habitat Centre here Thursday.
Over 10,000 people are feared to have died after a devastating 9-magnitude earthquake followed by a giant tsunami hit the world’s third largest economy Friday.
