India involved in their sixth tied match

After two consecutive tense wins, one against Sri Lanka and the next one against Australia, it is not difficult for one to predict the possibility of a tie and it is just what happened when India took on Sri Lanka in the fifth match of the CB series. Sri Lanka posted a very much chasable target of 236 and India, were up and down for most part of the chase, before at all came down to the final delivery. With four required to win, MS Dhoni hit one over covers, and a splendid fielding effort by the boundary ropes meant that the Indian captain could only manage three.

This was the sixth tied game that India were involved in in the history of ODIS, with three such games coming within the last 12 month including this match. This is also India’s first tied match against Sri Lanka. They have been involved in two tied games against England – both in 2011, twice against Zimbabwe and once against the West Indies.
