India, China keen to expand bilateral ties

Vice president of India Mr. Hamed Ansari on Sunday said “The imperatives of the 21st century propel us towards a better understanding of each other’s objectives and more purposeful cooperation for mutual benefit. Greater interaction between the people of our two countries, in all fields, is a necessary condition for stronger overall bilateral relations,” Citing the presence of nearly 10 thousand Indian students in China and setting up of 50 companies Hamed Ansari said it is the best starting point to work unitedly and expand mutually beneficial economic cooperation.

Hamid Ansari was on a 5-day visit to China. Earlier he attended the photo exhibition held to mark the 60th anniversary of Panchsheel agreement, along with Myanmar President U Thein Sein and his Chinese counterpart Li Yuanchao. Earlier Mrs. Sujatha Singh, Foreign Secretary informed that India has raised all issues with Chinese government including infiltration by Chinese troops into Indian Territory.

Mr. Hamid Ansari also met Chinese prime minister at Great Hall.
