Hyderabad: Eid ul-Fitr will be celebrated across the country on June 16. However, at some parts of the country, Eid was celebrated on 15th June. This year, the month of Ramadan has ended in 30 days.
In Hyderabad, people hit the street for last minute shopping of groceries, new clothes, footwear and other items for celebrating Eid. People were also seen buying milk, vermicelli and dry fruits for “sheer khorma”, a sweet dish made in almost every house.
Meanwhile, Governor of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, ESL Narasimhan extended greetings to Muslims. In an official communiqué the Governor conveyed greetings on the solemn occasion of the culmination of Holy month of RAMZAN as ID- UL – FITR and wished warm greetings and good wishes to all Muslim brethren. The Governor said “the teachings of Holy Quran have shaped the lives of the society over the ages since the advent of the Prophet. The holy RAMZAN is a reminder to us of the purpose of life as ordained by God and that only through rigorous self-discipline it is possible to realize the life eternal. On this Holy Eid-ul-Fitr day, let us redeem our pledge to respect the dignity of human being, the sanctity of life and the solemnity of all faiths”.
